Atualizado: 19 de jul.

Born in 1974 in São Paulo, Gustavo and Otávio Pandolfo, better known as Os Gêmeos, are a Brazilian artist duo that has taken the world by storm with their unique art. Since childhood, immersed in the culture of the Cambuci neighborhood, the brothers developed a passion for art that would bind them forever.

Inspired by urban culture, hip-hop, and Brazilian folklore, Os Gêmeos created a unique visual language, populated by enigmatic characters and vibrant colors. Their murals, sculptures, and paintings overflow with energy and emotion, inviting the public to unravel the mysteries and messages hidden within their works.

The artistic journey of Os Gêmeos began in the 1980s, when the graffiti scene exploded in Brazil. Influenced by names like Alex Vallauri, Bonga, and Speto, the brothers began painting on the streets of São Paulo, transforming gray walls into canvases full of life.

Over time, the talent and creativity of Os Gêmeos set them apart in the national and international art scene. In 1996, they participated in the São Paulo International Biennial, consolidating their position as avant-garde artists. Since then, they have exhibited in museums and galleries around the world, such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and the Venice Biennale.

Among the most famous works of Os Gêmeos are:

"Dream Team" (2006): A monumental mural that covers the façade of the São Paulo Museum of Art (MASP), depicting a multitude of vibrant and interconnected characters.

"Giants" (2012): Colossal sculptures installed in the Pôr do Sol Square in Fortaleza, representing humanoid figures with enigmatic faces and intertwined bodies.

"Metamorphosis" (2018): A series of paintings that explores the duality of human nature, using images of animals and human figures in constant transformation.

Through their works, they invite the public to reflect on the human condition and the connection with the world. Os Gêmeos are considered icons of Brazilian and world urban art. Their influence extends beyond the streets and galleries, inspiring new generations of artists and generating social reflections in people around the planet.
